Lots of space for tents, but be prepared to move a few rocks first.
As for activities, there are several nearby hikes (Grotto falls, etc) and the stars are beautiful at night. We observed at least 20 shooting stars, as well as the Milkyway!
Large campground. We stayed in loop e which is designated for equestrian camping, however nobody that we saw had horses and the place was full. Such beautiful views across the meadows. With the high elevation it was a great escape from the summer valley heat.
Needs work, park is showing its age.
Great place to camp, less crowded than Payson lakes. Sites are spaced a good ways apart and offer good privacy from other campers. No water or electrical hookups for trailers or RVs so plan accordingly. Roads are good coming up the canyon.
I've always loved coming up here. It's maintained fairly well, and it has running water up in the middle of the mountains. Also the price is pretty reasonable.
The bathrooms nearby had no lighting, but otherwise fully worked, including soap!
It was easy to reserve online, and easy to find with numerous signs. The firepit/bench areas are nice, with running water and lots of space for people. We had ~60 people seated comfortably.
We had a ward campout here, split across two sites in the B loop.
